Seminar: History and Opportunity: The Legacy of the UA Southern Arizona Experiment Station in Ecological Research

Abstract:

The Arizona Experiment Station (AES) has served as the Land-Grant for the University of Arizona since 1885. The AES plays a dynamic role in delivering on the UA’s mission of teaching, research and outreach and has been a cornerstone of ecological study that underpins the many of the agricultural, economic and social practices widely utilized today. This deep time perspective in continuous environmental research informs our understanding of global processes and implementation of ecological practices in a rapidly changing world. Please join the Director for the Southern Arizona Experiment Station, Brett Blum, for a discussion on the history, contemporary role and opportunities of the Southern Arizona Experiment Station as we look towards the next century of discovery.
