Zack Guido interviewed on Tucson News Now about worsening drought in Arizona and the Southwest

Feb. 3, 2014

Zach Guido, SNRE PhD student, and Dr. Valerie Trouet of the Laboratory of Tree Ring Research were interviewed on Tucson News Now on the impact of worsening drought in Arizona and throughout the Southwest. Arizona depends on groundwater and water from the Colorado River, which is shared with California and other states. According to Trouet, Arizona is fortunate to be able to count on the summer monsoons when the winter is dry, although as Guido says, we must "come up with solutions and use water and other natural resources in a better way."
