Dr. Michael Bogan featured on NPR to discuss ecological impacts of the US-Mexico border wall

NPR recently hosted SNRE?s Dr. Michael Bogan to discuss the impacts of Trump's border wall on groundwater supplies. The Trump administration plans on using local groundwater sources along the Arizona border to mix concrete for the new wall additions. However, water is so scarce in the Sonoran Desert that excess water use (contractors estimate needing 84,000 gallons of water a day) will negatively affect wildlife by depleting the water table and limiting the amount of surface water available. A border wall would also block wildlife south of the border from reaching perennial bodies of water vital for survival, such as those fed by the Quitobaquito Springs.
